There’s a light rain outdoors as I stepped out with the cats
to see what is going on in the garden.
I noticed our two, very large rosemary bushes at the front were filled with blooms. These are the first since the extreme pruning I gave them last year.
The Hellebores are filling up with their shy, but gorgeous blossoms.
One by one, the daffodils are bringing drops of sunshine here and there in our garden.
Still blooming, the fragrant, star-like Narcissus are shining brightly.
With our unseasonable warm weather, I have early chores to do – weeding! But, it gets me closer to the ground, closer to the soil and to the budding flowers that I so look forward to each year.
Oh, how marvelous it is to share in the beauty God creates –
for his glory and for our appreciation.
I am sharing this brief garden update with these Delightsome blog parties:

Kathy, your pictures did my heart good on this cold and snowy evening. They bring me hope even though it will be many months until we see such beauty which is now slumbering beneath a winter blanket. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWe had an amazing day today - 71 degrees - thunderstorms and the threat of tornadoes...unpredictable south!

Oh Kathy, we are expecting snow tonight into tomorrow, so this post was an enjoyable although brief respite while I am running around doing last minute preparations! I don't think I have ever seen a rosemary bush, it must smell wonderful. xo
ReplyDeleteYes, Barbara, it surely does - to me, the fragrance of the rosemary is just as refreshing as that of the lavender bush. I love the tiny, fairy-like blossoms!

Kathy, once again you've blessed me with your 'delightsome' blog! You must be in Texas, or somewhere like that because even here in Alabama, we don't have daffodils yet! Yesterday, however, I did see honey bees on the dandelions! It was so neat seeing that yellow pollen behind their legs! Thanks for sharing your beautiful flowers with us! Blessings from Bama!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I appreciate you - nope - I am not that far from you - I am in Central Georgia! Funny how things can be different from here to there!
DeleteOur daffodils usually show up in February.
Have a great weekend,
Kathy
Wow, your spring comes so early..I would love for us to be closer to spring but we are still in the early months of Winter. We wont see daffodil's until april/may..

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you reminded us where you live Kathy. I can't believe all your flowers so early in the new year. I live in Oregon and we often we have spring in February, but you sure have us beat! We had snow this week and now tons of rain and wind. No flowers here...sigh.

I think spring blooms are my favourites and in a few months I'll have some in the garden. Meanwhile, a pot of hyacinths is starting to bloom indoors.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
